Our Story

Our journey began in 2014 with a deep affection for the Bulldog breed, inspired by our first English Bulldog girl, Fatty. Later, we welcomed our handsome bulldog boy, Milo. Although we chose not to breed Fatty, she will always hold a special place in our hearts and in the story of how it all began. Fatty and Milo remained cherished members of our family, growing older together and sharing an inseparable bond.

In 2017, little did we know that one decision would shape our lives in ways we could never have imagined. We welcomed Zara, our first French Bulldog, fulfilling my husband’s long-held dream. Born in Serbia, Zara carries the heritage of her Balkan ancestors and became the foundation of our French Bulldog journey. To us, she will always be our Queen.

Zara’s arrival in the United States marked the beginning of something much greater than we initially imagined. My admiration for the breed grew into a genuine passion for its history, traditional type, and preservation. I became increasingly dedicated to studying pedigrees, understanding the breed’s heritage, and honoring the qualities that make the French Bulldog so special. Through Zara, what began as a shared family dream grew into a purposeful journey of learning, dedication, and preservation.

Today, Clay Bulldogs reflects the years of experiences, relationships, and lessons that have shaped us along the way. Every dog has contributed to our understanding of the breed, and every generation brings new responsibilities and opportunities to learn. We remain grateful for the dogs who started this journey, especially Zara, whose legacy continues to influence the direction of our program.

What began with a love for Bulldogs has grown into a lifelong commitment and a defining part of our family’s story.
